Research Degrees Regulations

This section sets out the Regulations, as approved by the Academic Board, for the following degrees:

• MPhil and PhD Degrees by Research (approved June 2007)
• PhD by Published Works (approved October 2007)

For students enrolled under earlier regulations, the Research Degrees Committee (RDC) will allow the rules of the current regulations to apply, where this is to the student’s advantage.

Please note that the Reguations for Research Degrees take precedence over the Code of Practice and the Handbooks for research students and supervisors.

The regulations are reviewed on a regular basis. The set of regulations in force at the time when a student enrols are the definitive regulations for the whole of that student’s degree programme.
