Early Studio Potters in Britain Lecture
Dr Jeffrey Jones, lecturer at UWIC’s Cardiff School of Art & Design is to deliver a lecture at the Biannual Aberystwyth International Ceramics Festival.
The Festival organised jointly by North Wales Potters, South Wales Potters and Aberystwyth Arts Centre is being held on the weekend of Friday 29 June to Sunday 1 July 2007.
Since it began in 1987, the International Ceramics Festival has grown to become the UK’s leading ceramics event. It offers teachers, students, ceramic artists, collectors, working potters and amateurs alike the chance to meet and study the work of distinguished, internationally known demonstrators from Wales, the UK and many countries worldwide.
This popular event is already a sell–out, with around a thousand people expected to attend. An exciting programme of events has been organised to include demonstrations, exhibitions and lectures.
Dr Jones’ lecture entitled ’Early Studio Potters in Britain’ is based on the first chapter of his forthcoming book to be published by A & C Black this summer.
