UWIC Skills and Employability Conference

UWIC Third Mission Conference - Skills and Employability
Wednesday 2nd May 2007
The St David’s Hotel and Spa, Cardiff Bay

With the publication of the Leitch Review of Skills in December 2006 the Government has signalled the urgent need for the UK to commit to becoming a world leader in skills by 2020.

The University sector has a key role to play in achieving this vision by accelerating the rise of highly skilled people from 29% to 40% and focusing on graduate employability.

This year, UWIC’s annual Third Mission Conference examined the key issues in relation to higher level skills and employability and explored the views of key stakeholders including the Sector Skills Development Agency, CBI, Sector Skills Councils, Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW) and Universities.
