Summary

Professor Peter Molan MBE of the University of Waikato will present a lecture on the effect of honey on the wound healing process.
 
In his presentation, Professor Molan will discuss the way that tissue repair is brought about by cells signalling and responding to one another and how honey can influence those processes to stimulate rapid wound healing and prevent scarring.
 
Professor Molan is the Director of the Honey Research Unit at University of Waikato, New Zealand. He is a biochemist and global authority on the therapeutic properties of honey. He has collaborated with staff within the Centre for Biomedical Sciences for the past ten years. His visit is being sponsored by Advancis Medical of Nottingham.
