Developing Staff
Advancing the research agenda and the careers of our researchers is a key element of the University’s forward looking strategy.
UWIC’s Staff Development Strategy is designed to promote a culture of continuous professional learning and development. As well as the formally planned staff development programme, support is given to staff for completing PhDs, to become members of the Higher Education Academy and to attend research seminar and international conferences.
Staff is encouraged to apply for extended research leave awards (ERLs) to pursue esteemed research in their interest area. Financial assistance is made available by application to fund research or enterprise related projects.
Research & Enterprise Services, a support team working under the direction of the Pro Vice Chancellor of Research & Enterprise, offer an annual programme of seminars aimed at developing staff in specific areas of research and enterprise activities:
