Research Study


The Cardiff School of Education has a lively and expanding research community, where interdisciplinary research is encouraged.


Research at the school is focused in two main areas:

  • Learners and learning contexts
  • Education, politics and society

Educational research is mostly in applied practice and knowledge transfer, while research in Humanities is connected with the examination of political science, political history and the exploration of specific genres within the field of English literature.

The research degree student body includes full–time and part–time, home and international students.  A new purpose–built research student room has been created with dedicated study areas, interactive whiteboard, printing and internet, to facilitate learning.
